PAPER RIBBON BOW

 These instructions make a bow out of paper ribbon.

1.  Materials:
* 24 inches of paper ribbon (purchase ribbon here)
* small scrap of cardstock
* needle and thread (about the length of the ribbon)

    note: Stamp ribbon first before going to step 2.

2.  Starting 4" up, on the back of the ribbon, place small
     marks spaced 2 1/2 inches apart the entire length of the
     ribbon. In this example you will have 8 marks (7 bow
     loops) with 3 or 4 inches of ribbon left on either side
     of the marks.

3.  The next few steps shown are gathering the ribbon.
     Run the needle through the cardstock.

4.  Then, starting at the first mark, place the needle into
      the ribbon just before the mark and out again just after
      the mark.

5.  Continue making these long basting stitches for the
      length of the ribbon. 

6.  Slowly, pull the thread taut while gathering the ribbon.

 

7.  Pull the needle and thread back through the cardstock.

 

8.  Tie off the thread.

9.  Make decorative cuts in edges of ribbon, as desired.
