1.  Materials:
* one piece of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock
* one quarter piece of cardstock (4 1/4" x 5 1/2")
* stamps, inks, embellishments
* plastic gift card
* double-sided adhesive AND a glue stick
 *scoring tool, see also Quick Score.

2.  The finished card size in this project is A2-4 1/4" x
     5 1/2". Starting with the 8 1/2" x 11" sheet, cut it
     lengthwise at 5 1/2", leaving a 3" strip for a future project.

3.  The scoring marks in our example are highlighted with
     black dashed lines (which would not be on your project).
     Measuring from the  top of the card, place a score line
    4 1/4" down. From that score line, measure another
    4 1/4" down and score the card again. The remaining
    2 1/2" of cardstock folds up to make the pocket that holds
    the plastic card.

4.  This step prepares to make the "thumb notch" in the card.
     Line the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cardstock (green in our example)
     on top of the remaining 2  1/2" flap on the card.  Carefully
     flip both pieces over together.

5.  Line up a circle punch to make a half circle punch into
    both pieces of cardstock. This ensures the notch will
    line-up properly in a later step.

6.  Place your plastic gift card onto the 2 1/2" flap, over
     the notch and next to the lowest score line. There are
     two areas to glue.

    First, leave about a 3/16" (or more) space away
     from the card and place double-sided adhesive
     tape along both sides of the card (red hash
     lines in photo). It is fine if the sticky tape hangs over
     the bottom edge of card, it will be covered in the next
     step. Putting the double-sided adhesive too close
     to the plastic card will prevent the card from easily being
     pulled out of its slot.

    Second, glue stick the open area to the left of the plastic
    card.

7.  Remove the plastic card and fold the flap up.  We left the
     plastic card in for photo purposes only.

8.  Aligning the notches of the folded flap and the 4 1/4" x
     5 1/2" piece of cardstock, glue the cardstock into place
    to cover the folded flap.

9.  Stamp your card as desired.  In our example we cut a
     bit of the front lower edge off to let the
     green cardstock show through.
