Credit for this valentine is given to the Family Fun website
www.familyfun.com . Their version of this valentine placed a
lollipop inside the mouse so that the stick became the tail.
My kiddos thought it looked funny, so we modified the pattern
as you will see.

Fold construction paper and cut out a heart.  Note that the
heart size can be cut larger for younger children (they need
more room to make their letters) and smaller for older children.

Thread the string through the top of the valentine and tie.
It is about a 3 inch tail. Write or stamp a message near the top
of the valentine along with the words TO: and FROM:.
Repositionable adhesive placed on the curve (see dot & arrow)
closes this valentine nicely and lets the kids open and re-open the
mouse. Tape can also be used.

The mouse is more easily decorated when folded.
Attach the eyes, draw a nose and whiskers on each side.
